POSITION SUMMARY:
Staff Accountant is responsible for day-to-day accounting tasks, including but not limited to maintaining financial records, preparing financial reports, and reconciling accounts. Will be responsible for ways to improve efficiency and identify risks as it relates to financial data.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare and analyze financial reports, including balance sheet, income statement and cash flow.
- Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data.
- Assist in the budgeting process by providing financial data and analysis.
- Assist in the financial management of the organization by monitoring expenses and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
- Assist in the preparation of financial forecasts and projections.
- Processing transactions, including invoice entry and payment support.
- Creates standard, and non-standard recurring journal entries for review, including fixed assets, depreciation, prepaid items, recognizing deferred revenue and other accruals.
- Support month end and year end close process.
- Ensuring adherence to accounting principles (GAAP), assisting with audits and supporting tax filings.
- Other duties as assigned.
